Job summary

RCD Consulting Pty Ltd is seeking an Integrated Logistics Support Manager to lead ILS activities for Defence CASG in Canberra. The role requires on-site work in Canberra and collaboration with Defence project teams, engineers and procurement staff to ensure sustainment readiness.

The successful candidate will develop and review ILS plans, manage logistics artefacts, and provide senior-level briefs and advice to stakeholders. A Defence security clearance is preferred or the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering ILS services in Defence, CASG, acquisition or sustainment.
• Strong understanding of Defence materiel logistics and life-cycle support.
• Ability to review ILS deliverables and provide practical advice.
• Experience developing ILS concepts, plans and logistics documentation.

• Experience liaising with Defence project teams and stakeholders.

The following requirements are essential for this role:

• Demonstrated experience delivering ILS services within Defence, CASG, acquisition, sustainment or complex materiel environments.
• Strong understanding of Defence materiel logistics, supportability analysis, Logistic Support Analysis, sustainment planning and whole-of-life support requirements.
• Experience developing, reviewing or maintaining ILS concepts, ILS plans, logistics support artefacts, technical documentation and sustainment planning documentation.
• Experience supporting materiel transition into sustainment, including sustainment readiness, support arrangements, logistics risk management and support system planning.
• Ability to review, assess and provide advice on contractor ILS deliverables, logistics documentation, support plans and technical artefacts.
• Experience working with Defence project teams, engineers, commercial staff, procurement teams, industry partners and other logistics stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret contractual, technical, policy and logistics requirements and translate them into practical support arrangements.
• Experience preparing written advice, briefs, reports and logistics documentation for senior stakeholders and delegate consideration.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work across multi-disciplinary Defence and industry environments.
• Current or ability to obtain a Defence security clearance.

The following requirements are highly desirable for this role:

• Experience working above-the-line in a CASG or Defence project environment.
• Familiarity with contemporary Defence capability acquisition and delivery processes, including the One Defence Capability System where relevant.
• Experience with ASDEFCON suite deliverables, CDRL items, DIDs, DSDs, support contract inputs and contractor deliverable reviews.
• Experience contributing to procurement planning, contract negotiation, approach-to-market activities or support contract development from an ILS perspective.
• Experience developing or reviewing ILSCs, ILSPs, maintenance concepts, transition plans, disposal plans, technical publications or training system documentation.
• Experience with RAM analysis, LSA activities, supportability analysis and materiel logistics performance reporting.
• Experience with Defence logistics information systems such as MILIS, Defence ERP or similar inventory, asset or logistics management systems.
• Experience in cataloguing, codification, spares planning, provisioning, stock control, disposal planning and inventory management.
• Understanding of Defence logistics and procurement policy, including DEFLOGMAN, Commonwealth Procurement Rules and relevant CASG processes.
• Experience integrating FIC considerations into ILS planning and sustainment readiness activities.
• Experience supporting training needs analysis or training system development, including SADL where relevant.
• Experience with configuration management and change management principles as they apply to logistics data, technical documentation and support system artefacts.
• Experience supporting GFE planning, tracking, obligations and handover activities.
• Experience leading small teams, mentoring junior ILS practitioners or uplifting ILS practices within a Defence project environment.
• Experience working with complex technical systems, ICT-enabled systems or other specialist materiel environments.
