Job summary

Iress is seeking an Engineer to deliver high-quality software across the product lifecycle, from inception to deployment and production support. You will write clean, well-tested code and collaborate to build scalable, reliable functionality for Iress products.

The role focuses on technical specialisations such as Software, Data, Security, and Support & Reliability, while developing domain expertise in Trading, Lending or Advice. Strong leadership and ownership are required.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in software development with ability to guide design decisions.
• Proven people leadership and coaching of engineers.
• Ability to translate product priorities into delivery plans and manage capacity.
• Solid understanding of modern development practices including testing, CI/CD and observability.
• Balance immediate delivery needs with reliability, maintainability and technical debt.
• Excellent communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Customer and commercial awareness in financial services or regulated software is desirable.
• Sound judgment, problem solving and ownership of outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering delivery of product priorities, plan work and manage risks.
• Lead the engineering team, provide feedback and develop capability.
• Ensure solutions meet architecture, security and quality standards.
• Maintain service reliability with monitoring and incident response.
• Collaborate with Product to clarify requirements and provide estimates.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices and tooling.
• Embed security, privacy, risk and compliance into the work.
