Job summary

Sydney City Toyota and Lexus is seeking a Dealership Accountant to support the Financial Controller and lead the accounts team at the Waterloo flagship site. The role combines hands-on accounting with strategic oversight of monthly and yearly closures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will review the general ledger, supervise staff, prepare IAS/BAS, manage cash flow and regulatory reporting, and advise on internal controls while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years experience in similar position.
• Automotive industry experience.
• Strong technical accounting skills.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders throughout the business.
• Excellent knowledge of Accounting Standards and Australian equivalents to IFRS.
• Exposure to Tune, SAP and Hyperion are advantages.

Responsibilities

• End of month/year financial reporting.
• General Ledger review, measurement and reconciliations.

• Monitor, maintain and develop standard operating procedures and internal controls.
• Liaise with industry suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Remain current with existing and proposed accounting standards and the impact to the financial and operating policies of the Dealership.
• Monitor and control current assets and liquidity measures including cash flow, inventory, debtors and creditors management.
• Preparation of ABS surveys and other regulatory reports/submissions.
• Quarterly inventory analysis and reporting.
