Job summary

CSR Hebel, Somersby NSW, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Superintendent to lead the day shift maintenance team and support the Maintenance Manager in delivering site uptime. You will manage 23 trades and contractors, driving safety, reliability and continuous improvement with SAP/CMMS focus.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical background, leadership experience in heavy industry, and a proactive approach to maintenance excellence on a busy manufacturing site.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical trade qualifications; engineering degree is highly regarded.
• Experience leading a maintenance team in heavy industry or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of rotating equipment and mechanical systems.
• Experience with CMMS (SAP preferred), planning and scheduling, and contractor management.
• Safety-focused mindset with solid fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage conflicting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a day shift maintenance crew across mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Schedule and oversee maintenance activities including major shutdowns.
• Drive safety, attendance, training and performance accountability.
• Troubleshoot plant and equipment to identify root causes.
• Manage service contracts, purchasing, and liaison with contractors.
• Support capital works, lean initiatives, and continuous improvement.
• Track maintenance activities using SAP or other CMMS.
• Ensure compliance with WHSE standards and permit-to-work systems.
