Job summary

Truck Tech in Sydney's Chipping Norton workshop is seeking an experienced Leading Hand to support technicians on the floor, coordinate jobs and keep the workshop moving.

You’ll lead from the front, assist with complex diagnostics, monitor safety and productivity, and mentor apprentices in a hands-on, mechanic-led environment. Day shift, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary plus super. There is also an uncapped monthly performance bonus.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• Strong heavy vehicle servicing, repair and diagnostic experience.
• Previous leading hand or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting technicians on the workshop floor
• Coordinating jobs and keeping workflow moving
• Providing technical support and guidance
• Getting on the tools when needed
• Assisting with complex diagnostics and fault finding
• Monitoring workmanship, productivity and safety
• Supporting and developing apprentices and technicians
• Communicating job progress and priorities with workshop management
• Setting the standard for accountability, teamwork and quality
