Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise database solutions for business applications and reporting. You will optimise complex SQL, design data models, and lead performance tuning with a focus on high availability and security.

The role involves working with cloud databases (Azure, AWS) and supporting CI/CD deployment, data integration, and DevOps practices. Based in Western Sydney with AUS Citizens NV1 clearance consideration.

Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise database platforms (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and advanced SQL development.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling, normalization, and architecture.
• Experience with data migration, ETL processes and system integrations.
• Cloud database experience (Azure, AWS) and database security/high availability concepts.
• Experience in Agile/hybrid delivery environments and DevOps practices.

Job description

Database Developer:

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise database solutions to support business applications, integrations, and reporting requirements.
Develop and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and database packages.
Design logical and physical data models aligned to business, application, and data requirements.
Collaborate with architects, business analysts, developers, and testers to deliver scalable and high-performing database solutions.
Lead database performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning activities.
Support data migration, system integration, and ETL processes across multiple platforms and environments.
Implement database security, backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions in line with organisational standards.
Support CI/CD deployment processes and contribute to database automation and DevOps practices.
Produce and maintain technical artefacts including data models, database specifications, deployment documentation, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience in database development using Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or similar enterprise database platforms.
Advanced SQL development skills including query optimisation, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
Strong understanding of database design, data modelling, normalization, and data architecture principles.
Experience with data migration, ETL processes, system integrations, and data quality management.
Experience working with cloud database technologies such as Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Oracle Cloud, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.
Experience working in Agile and hybrid delivery environments.
Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Jira, Confluence, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and technical documentation skills.
