Job summary

WSP in Australia is seeking a Data Scientist with strong data engineering capabilities to take projects from raw sources through to production-ready data products and machine learning solutions. This role blends data engineering, analytics and operationalised AI to deliver end-to-end solutions for infrastructure, environmental and community projects.

You will design, build and deploy scalable data pipelines, models and dashboards using Snowflake, Databricks and Azure, collaborating with

Qualifications

• Strong Python development skills with packaging, testing and version control.
• Advanced SQL with data modelling and complex transformations.
• Production experience with Snowflake, Databricks and Azure data services.
• Experience with dbt, Airflow, or Azure Data Factory for data pipelines.
• Solid statistics and ML knowledge including regression, classification and forecasting.
• Operationalising data products and pipelines in production.
• Experience handling large, imperfect datasets from multiple sources.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy scalable data and ML solutions for infrastructure clients.
• Create ingestion pipelines from client source systems into cloud platforms.
• Develop layered data architectures with raw, staging and curated models.
• Establish CI/CD, secrets management and automation for data pipelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across transport, water, energy and environment.
• Support proposals and business development with technical input.
