Job summary

Synergy is seeking a Data Scientist for a 12-month fixed-term role in our Technology and Business Services team, based at the Central Park office in Perth.

The role develops and manages data-driven solutions to address high-speed, real-time operational data challenges and supports design and development of data solutions that improve DER and system performance.

Qualifications

• Four years' experience in BI, analytics or data science.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Cross-functional capability and ability to work in a DevOps environment.
• Experience transforming data from multiple sources and building predictive models.
• Experience in DER systems applications or the energy utilities industry.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support advanced analytics, real-time data pipelines and reporting solutions.
• Develop and optimise data transformation assets, data mining and modeling techniques.
• Partner with analytics teams, data analysts and stakeholders to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Maintain data quality, governance and management standards for end-user needs.
• Lead innovation across analytics processes, technologies and software assets.

Role Description:

The Data Scientist is a 12 month fixed term opportunity in our Technology and Business Services team based at our Central Park office in Perth.

As part of DER Platforms, this position develops and manages data-driven solutions that address high-speed, real-time operational data challenges. The role analyses and extracts insights from complex data sets and supports the design and development of data solutions that improve DER and operational system performance.

Job responsibilities:

• Design, build and support advanced analytics, real-time data pipelines and reporting solutions to meet business and operational requirements.
• Develop and optimise data transformation assets, data mining techniques, machine learning models and statistical models to deliver actionable insights.
• Partner with analytics teams, data analysts and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and drive informed decision-making.
• Maintain robust data quality, governance and management standards while architecting solutions that meet end-user needs.
• Lead innovation and continuous improvement across analytics processes, technologies and software assets, leveraging best-practice business intelligence and analytical techniques

What you will bring:

• Four years' experience in a business intelligence, analytics or data science role.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated cross-functional capability and ability to work effectively within a DevOps environment.
• Experience accessing, manipulating and transforming data from multiple sources and worked on building predictive models and operationalising outputs.
• Experience in DER systems applications or the energy utilities industry.
