Qualifications

Join a market leading organisation within the retail and consumer sector, where data and reporting play an important role in commercial decision making and identifying business growth opportunities. Based in Melbourne with hybrid working, this enterprise environment has an established analytics capability and works closely with regional and global stakeholders to improve the quality, automation and accessibility of reporting through Power BI, Excel, Power Query and Power Pivot.

The Role

This Data & Reporting Analyst position will take ownership of the management, maintenance and enhancement of core business reporting tools, with a strong focus on Power BI and advanced Excel. You will manage existing Power BI dashboards, oversee automated retailer data inputs and quality assurance, and lead the development of a new automated Power BI reporting solution. Working closely with the Analytics Centre of Excellence, IT teams and regional and global stakeholders, you will support reporting consolidations and deliver ad hoc analysis to identify performance trends and commercial growth opportunities. Strong Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA and advanced Excel capability will be central to the role.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly management, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing Power BI reporting tools, including refresh cycles and ongoing technical enhancements.
• Manage backend data inputs and complete detailed quality assurance across automated retailer data pipelines, identifying missing or inconsistent data and coordinating resolution with IT and the Analytics Centre of Excellence.
• Lead the design, build and ongoing ownership of a new automated Power BI dashboard, including weekly and monthly refresh processes and backend data flow quality assurance.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual reporting consolidations for regional and global stakeholders, using Power BI, Excel, Power Query and Power Pivot to improve automation and reduce manual error.
• Deliver ad hoc performance reporting and analysis to identify retailer trends, commercial opportunities and potential areas for business growth.
• Use advanced Excel capabilities including Power Query, dynamic arrays, XLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, VBA, Macros and Power Pivot to automate reporting and strengthen data integrity.
• Partner with analytics, commercial and technology teams to continuously improve Power BI reporting, automated data processes and overall reporting quality.

Candidate Experience

• At least three years of experience in a comparable data analyst, reporting analyst, commercial analytics or business intelligence role, ideally within retail, consumer goods or an environment working extensively with retailer data.
• Strong experience across performance reporting, automated data pipelines, data quality assurance and reporting consolidation, with exposure to regional, global or senior business stakeholders.
• Advanced technical capability across Power BI and Excel, including Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA, Macros, dynamic arrays, XLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, data modelling and interactive dashboard development.
