Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Data Reporting & AI Analyst for the Southern Program Alliance in Melbourne. You will lead a structured reporting suite across ALT, AMT and project disciplines, while building a foundation for wider AI adoption. Responsibilities include dashboards, AI pilots, and data governance across SPA packages.

You will train staff on prompt engineering, maintain data integrity, and collaborate with corporate Data Science and Project Controls teams to drive responsible AI use.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Mathematics, Science or similar field.
• Advanced skills in Power BI, Power Query and SQL.
• Background in data analytics on large infrastructure projects.
• Pass a Pre-Employment Medical and National Crime Check.
• Strong communication across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

ACCIONA delivers major rail upgrades as part of the Southern Program Alliance, removing level crossings and improving safety and reliability across Melbourne's rail network. Originally focused on the Frankston line, the Alliance's scope now extends to Melbourne's Inner West - removing level crossings at Newport and Spotswood with new rail bridges and a rebuilt station, and realigning freight and passenger lines through Sunshine to untangle one of Victoria's busiest rail junctions.

About Opportunity

We are looking for a Data Reporting & AI Analyst to join the Southern Program Alliance, reporting to the Finance, Risk & Governance Alliance Manager. This role sits at the centre of how the project uses data and artificial intelligence to improve decision making. You will lead the development of a structured reporting suite across ALT, AMT and project disciplines, while building the foundations for wider AI adoption. Once established, the role expands into championing responsible AI use across the alliance, giving you the chance to pilot new tools, influence how teams work and leave a lasting mark on a major piece of Victorian infrastructure.

Responsibilities

You will build and maintain Power BI dashboards and Power Query pipelines that support finance, cost control and project management functions across all SPA packages. You will design and pilot AI use cases, including proof of concept trials for Claude and Microsoft Copilot, and train project staff on prompt engineering and responsible AI practices. You will maintain data integrity, prepare innovation submissions for VIDA Rail and share learnings with ACCIONA's corporate Data Science and Project Controls teams.

Key accountabilities for the position will be:

• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards for all disciplines
• Develop Power Query pipelines supporting finance and cost control
• Lead proof of concept trials for AI tools including Claude
• Train and upskill staff in AI usage and prompt engineering
• Establish feedback loops to identify AI adoption opportunities
• Prepare innovation submissions and track adoption metrics
• Maintain data integrity and audit ready documentation
