Job summary

carsales is recruiting a Technical Lead for Data Platform Engineering to drive architectural direction across the data platform and collaborate with product and technology teams. This role is an individual contributor with mentoring responsibilities, not people management.

You’ll shape technical strategy, establish standards, and oversee initiatives like data democratization and platform modernization while mentoring engineers across domains.

Qualifications

• Senior data engineer level with ownership of platform domains

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural direction across DPE's platform and ensure coherence across domains
• Partner with product and engineering leadership to shape technical strategy
• Set and evolve engineering standards (code quality, testing, CI/CD, security, data governance)
• Oversee major initiatives like data democratization and platform modernization
• Mentor Senior and Mid-level engineers on complex cross-domain problems
• Represent DPE in cross-functional forums and align with analytics, product and other teams
• Identify emerging tooling opportunities and recommend adoptable solutions
• Resolve ambiguous, high-impact technical problems across domains
