Job summary

MTX APAC is seeking a Data Migration Lead to own the end-to-end data migration workstream for Salesforce projects in a hybrid Australia-based role. You will drive strategy, delivery and production cutovers with a focus on quality and client outcomes.

You will lead profiling, mapping, transformation, cleansing and reconciliation, guiding the team and coordinating with architects, data owners and stakeholders to ensure aligned delivery and successful go-lives.

Job description

MTX is seeking a highly skilled and client-focused Data Migration Lead to join our team. This role is key in driving the strategic direction, delivery, and success of Salesforce projects, ensuring they align with both client expectations and business objectives. Data migration can quickly become a delivery risk when ownership, quality or client decisions are unclear. We are looking for a Data Migration Lead who can take full ownership of the workstream, from early profiling and strategy through to rehearsals and production cutover. You will lead the team and work directly with our clients, while staying close enough to the detail to resolve issues before they affect testing or go-live.

What you will own:

• Define the migration strategy, scope, plan, tooling, environments, resourcing and cutover approach.
• Confirm source systems, data domains, volumes, migration waves, retention and archival boundaries.
• Establish governance for ownership, data quality, security, reconciliation, defects and acceptance.
• Make dependencies and client responsibilities visible and elevate early.

Migration design and delivery

• Lead data profiling, source-to-target mapping, transformation, cleansing, deduplication and exception management.
• Ensure the migration design aligns with the Salesforce data model, security, automation, integrations and reporting.
• Direct the development and review of repeatable extraction, transformation and load routines.
• Resolve complex data and design issues with architects, business stakeholders and client data owners.

Rehearsal cutover and leadership

• Define rehearsal cycles, reconciliation controls, acceptance evidence and migration readiness criteria.
• Lead mock migrations and production cutover, tracking run times, defects, lessons and readiness actions.
• Lead and mentor migration consultants while maintaining consistent quality and delivery standards.
• Provide clear reporting on quality, exceptions, dependencies and readiness to governance forums.

What we are looking for:

• Experience and capability
• Extensive experience leading end-to-end data migration workstreams for CRM or enterprise transformation programs.
• Strong Salesforce migration experience, including complex relationships, sequencing, ownership and security.
• Practical expertise in profiling, mapping, transformation, cleansing, deduplication and reconciliation.
• Strong SQL capability and experience with ETL tools or scripted migration approaches.
• Experience leading mock migrations, production cutovers and auditable acceptance controls.
• Proven team leadership, facilitation and senior client stakeholder management skills.
• Useful additional experience
• Experience with Salesforce Data Loader, Bulk API, MuleSoft, Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory or similar tooling.
• Experience with Health Cloud, Experience Cloud, Public Sector Solutions or other Salesforce industry products.
• Understanding of Australian privacy, security and records-management requirements.
• Experience in the public sector, health, utilities or other regulated environments.
• Certifications
• Salesforce Administrator is preferred; Salesforce Data Architect, Sharing and Visibility Architect or relevant data credentials are highly regarded.

• Production migration is controlled and supported by clear reconciliation evidence.
