Job summary

ASC is seeking a Data Lead to join their Transformation team in Adelaide. You will translate business problems into practical data solutions, develop data models, dashboards and reporting frameworks, and mentor others in data analytics.

You'll collaborate across business and technology teams, champion BI adoption, ensure data governance and quality, and support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights for senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading data, analytics or BI initiatives from definition to adoption.
• Strong ability to translate complex data into business insights and recommendations.
• Knowledge of PowerBI, data warehousing, RDBMS, BPMS and Splunk.
• Understanding governance, data quality, metadata, security and access controls.
• Familiarity with project management principles and process improvement methods.
• Awareness of Robotic Process Automation and related use cases.
• Clear, plain-language communication of technical concepts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Data Lead provides practical data and analytics support to ASC's Transformation team, enabling long-term sustainable change and improvement across the business. Reporting to the Head of Solution Design and Integration, you will translate business problems into practical data solutions. You'll work across business and technology environments, partnering closely with peers in business analysis, continuous improvement and project management to deliver measurable outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop data requirements, data models, dashboards, reporting frameworks and performance measures
• Partner with staff across the business to understand their information needs and help build and maintain their own reports and dashboards
• Champion the use of BI and existing data assets through sustainable, cost-effective data extraction, analysis, reporting and insight generation.
• Train, coach and mentor others in data analytics techniques and promote a continuous improvement culture
• Identify process inefficiencies and use data to support process redesign and simplification
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Transformation project management system, including its policies, processes and tools
• Present data-driven recommendations and insights clearly to senior leaders and stakeholders with varying levels of technical literacy

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Demonstrated experience leading data, analytics or business intelligence initiatives from definition through to implementation and adoption
• Strong capability analysing complex data sets and translating findings into clear business insights and recommendations
• Technical and practical knowledge of PowerBI, data warehousing, RDBMS, BPMS and Splunk
• Understanding of governance, data quality, data ownership, metadata, security and access controls
• Working knowledge of project management principles and Business Process Improvement methodologies
• Understanding of Robotic Process Automation and other automation technologies, including identifying suitable use cases
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in plain language
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Security Clearance is required
