Ferocia in Melbourne is seeking a Data Governance Implementation Lead to bridge technology, data governance and risk. You’ll map domains, profile assets, define CDEs, trace data lineage and implement data quality frameworks.
This hands-on leadership role partners with Data Custodians, Lead Data Stewards and Business System Owners in the Up division. It’s a 12-month fixed-term, full-time, mostly onsite in our Melbourne CBD office.
Ferocia is a team of more than 300 people building better financial experiences for Australians.
As the digital division of Bendigo Bank, our work spans Up, a digital bank; Connect, the platform powering Bendigo Bank’s web and mobile banking; and tools that make managing money simpler and help protect people from scams and fraud.
Our shared purpose: helping people feel more confident and in control of their money.
Sound like something you’d like to be part of? We’d love to hear from you.
I’m the Chief Operating Officer of Up, part of the Digital division in Bendigo Bank. I need your help implementing my data governance responsibilities.
I’ve been juggling this work alongside my other responsibilities, but there’s a lot of foundational stuff to get right, and I want to progress things faster.
This role reports directly to me, with great access to the CTO and the rest of the Digital leadership team, while working closely with our risk partners, data teams, engineers and other subject matter experts in the business. They’re all awesome people to work with.
You’ll be hands‑on and leading the way mapping our domains, refining our asset profiles, understanding the lineage and lifecycle of our CDEs, defining data quality metrics, establishing reporting, leading root cause analysis of data issues and generally establishing good governance practices.
That’s the work I know about, but you’ve done this before. I’ll be relying on your many years of experience to help me find the right way with clear communication, tenacious persistence and pragmatic prioritisation.
This is a 12 month, fixed‑term role to build out the foundations. We can accommodate some flexibility, but it’s a full time role, mostly onsite in our Melbourne CBD office.
Your cover letter should clearly highlight your most relevant experience and how it sets you up to succeed in this specific role.
The Data Governance Implementation Lead bridges the gap between technology systems, data governance, business strategy, and risk management. In this hands‑on role, you will act as a trusted operational partner to Data Custodians, Lead Data Stewards and Business System Owners within the Digital Division (in particular the Up business).
You will help operationalise their data governance responsibilities and deliver on the division’s strategic roadmap by combining your core systems analysis skills (such as systems mapping) with data governance practices such as defining data domains, building asset profiles, mapping critical data elements, tracing data lineage, and implementing data quality frameworks.
We’re targeting a range of $130,000 to $150,000 (exclusive of superannuation) for this role; however, we’re open to adjusting this range for exceptional candidates.
We work flexibly, with genuine autonomy over where and when you do your best work. Ferocians can use our Melbourne CBD office as much or as little as makes sense for them.
We also value spending time together face to face, with teams making time to meet in person when it matters. That’s why we’re currently only hiring people based in Naarm/Melbourne and surrounding areas.
Here’s some of what you can expect:
We value different experiences and perspectives, so we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement. You might be just who we’re looking for.
