Job summary

Macquarie Group seeks a senior leader to drive the Data Governance Execution Plan, translating enterprise policies into scalable governance capabilities. You will lead design and implementation, oversee cross-functional initiatives, and influence senior stakeholders to strengthen accountability and data quality across the organisation.

Our Financial Management, People and Engagement Group Data Office is responsible for strengthening data governance across a complex business and technology environment. We work closely with business, technology, risk and enterprise data teams to embed effective governance practices, improve data quality and controls, and deliver trusted information that supports better decision‑making and regulatory compliance.

What role will you play?

As a senior leader within the Financial People and Engagement Group Data Office, you will be responsible for driving the execution of Data Governance Execution Plan and translating enterprise policies, standards and regulatory requirements into practical, scalable solutions. You will lead the design and implementation of technology‑enabled governance capabilities, oversee a portfolio of cross‑functional initiatives, and influence senior stakeholders to strengthen accountability, improve data quality and deliver measurable business outcomes. Through strong leadership and collaboration, you will build sustainable governance capability and support the successful adoption of governance practices across the organisation.

What You Offer

• Significant experience leading complex data, technology, risk or business transformation programmes within financial services or another highly regulated environment
• Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, operating models, controls and technology‑enabled governance solutions, with experience implementing data management or governance platforms such as Collibra or similar tools
• Proven ability to define strategy, set priorities and deliver measurable outcomes across large‑scale portfolios, while balancing business, risk, regulatory and technology requirements
• Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders, building alignment across diverse teams and resolving complex challenges in a collaborative manner
• Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience developing multidisciplinary teams and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
