Job summary

PwC Australia is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support the Data Governance Manager in executing governance initiatives and ensuring precise data management across the firm. You will help establish policies, standards and data quality programs while identifying data risks and controls.

You will collaborate with Data Owners, Stewards and business stakeholders to embed governance practices, curate data assets in the catalog (Collibra), and prepare clear reporting for governance forums.

Qualifications

• Experience in data governance, data management or risk/compliance.
• Ability to write business definitions, tag assets and map data lineage.
• Understanding metadata management and data flows across systems.
• Knowledge of data ownership, stewardship, quality, lineage and controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate governance records.
• Proactive, curious and improvement-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and ongoing operation of the firm's data governance framework and processes.
• Set up and maintain the enterprise data catalog, including configurations, workflows, roles and permissions.
• Curate data assets with definitions, owners and lineage to enable data trust.
• Review metadata and update it as business needs evolve.
• Collaborate with Data Owners and Data Stewards to embed governance practices.
• Prepare reporting and insights for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to awareness, training and communications to build governance capability.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and strengthen governance processes.
