Job summary

Australian Payments Plus in Sydney is seeking a Data Engineer to transform data across Australia's payments ecosystem into trusted assets, powering products and insights. This hands-on role focuses on scalable batch and real-time pipelines using Snowflake, AWS, Python, SQL and APIs.

You will own end-to-end data ingestion, quality checks and governance, collaborate with analysts and stakeholders, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on data infrastructure experience, preferably in payments or banking.
• Strong skills in Snowflake, SQL, Python and data transformations.
• Experience with ETL pipelines, APIs and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Familiarity with DBT, Airflow and Kafka is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Ingest data from APIs, databases, files and event streams for business use.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and maintainability of data pipelines.
• Implement governance, security and error handling for payment data.
• Provide on-call support as part of a rotating roster.
