Job summary

The Network Technology Recruitment is seeking Lead Data Engineers to deliver modern enterprise data platforms supporting analytics, reporting, AI and ML within a major Federal Government environment. This hands-on senior role will work across Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric, shaping data architecture and pipelines.

Location flexibility includes ACT, NSW, VIC or QLD with a Canberra-based preference for 3 days on-site per week.

Qualifications

• Recent hands-on experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data engineering solutions.
• Ability to independently lead technical outcomes while remaining actively involved in engineering and development.
• Experience supporting analytics, AI or ML workloads.

Canberra preferred Must hold AGSVA security clearance | QLD, NSW & VIC considered | 12-month contract + multiple long term extensions

The Network are seeking multiple experienced Lead Data Engineers to deliver modern enterprise data platforms supporting analytics, reporting, AI and machine learning outcomes within a major Federal Government environment.

This is a hands-on senior role with opportunities across Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric

Key Skills

• Strong Azure Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric experience
• PySpark, Spark SQL, Python and SQL
• Delta Lake, Lakehouse and Medallion architectures
• Databricks Workflows and Unity Catalog
• Azure Data Factory and ADLS Gen2
• Enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration
• Data modelling, quality, lineage and governance
• Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD and automated testing
• Experience supporting analytics, AI or ML workloads
• Technical leadership and stakeholder engagement

What We're Looking For
