Job summary

Stake is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Sydney-based Data team. You will build scalable data pipelines, establish trusted data platforms, and empower teams with high-quality datasets.

You will work closely with engineers, product managers, analysts and stakeholders to shape Stake’s data platform for impactful decisions. You will thrive in a hybrid setup, spending time in our Sydney office and collaborating across the business to drive data-informed outcomes and improved product experiences

Qualifications

• Experience building modern data platforms, pipelines and data products in production.
• Strong focus on data quality, reliability and reusable data systems.
• Experience across ingestion, transformation, modelling and consumption layers.
• Ability to balance long-term platform health with business needs and urgency.
• Clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build reliable, scalable data pipelines foundational to Stake’s operations.
• Increase data trust through quality, observability and governance.
• Enable self-service data capabilities for product, operations and commercial teams.
• Collaborate with engineers and analysts to implement scalable data models.
• Improve performance and maintainability as data volumes grow.
• Establish engineering standards and platform capabilities.
