Job summary

Join Bunnings Group Limited as a Data Engineer in our Data, AI, Loyalty and Analytics team. You’ll build scalable data pipelines, analytical datasets and models to support reporting, self-service analytics, advanced analytics and AI use cases.

You’ll work with Python, dbt, Apache Airflow, Snowflake and Power BI to solve meaningful data challenges in a large evolving environment, driving trusted data across the business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong hands-on with Python, SQL, dbt and Apache Airflow.
• Experience building data pipelines on Snowflake.
• Knowledge of dimensional modelling or similar.
• Experience creating semantic layers and business-friendly structures.
• Understanding of governance, quality, lineage and metadata.
• Familiarity with source control, CI/CD and testing.
• Experience in Agile, cross-functional teams.
• Relevant qualification or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and curated datasets for reporting and AI.
• Design dimensional and semantic models for easy data access.
• Develop reusable transformation logic with Python, SQL, dbt and Apache Airflow.
• Improve data quality with automated testing and monitoring.
• Optimise queries for performance, scalability and cost.
• Translate business requirements into practical data products.
• Collaborate with BI developers, data scientists, analysts and product teams.
• Contribute to peer reviews and engineering standards.
• Help define consistent business definitions while balancing governance.
