Job summary

Zone IT Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and support scalable cloud-native data platforms and pipelines in Sydney. You will work with AWS, SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, data modeling and Spark/PySpark within Agile delivery teams.

You’ll own data integration, governance and monitoring, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to modern data engineering practices across projects. Snowflake/DBT familiarity is a plus.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and support scalable cloud-native data platforms and pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on expertise in AWS, SQL, Python, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and Spark/PySpark, along with experience working with modern data engineering practices and Agile delivery teams.

Key Skills

• Data Engineer with strong experience in building and supporting cloud‑native data platforms.
• Candidate should have hands‑on expertise in SQL, Python, AWS (S3, Glue, EMR, Athena, Aurora PostgreSQL), ETL/ELT pipeline development, data modeling, and Spark/PySpark.
• Experience with CDC, data governance, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), monitoring, and operational databases is essential.
• Exposure to Kafka/MSK, Terraform, and event‑driven architectures is desirable.
• Strong problem‑solving, stakeholder engagement, and Agile delivery skills are required.
• Snowflake and DBT is nice to have
