Job summary

DBiz Solution in Melbourne is seeking a Data Engineer for a one-year fixed-term, onsite role. You will lead data migration activities moving data from AX, Excel and other sources into a D365 data store, leveraging Spark, PySpark and Databricks within an Azure ecosystem.

The role requires strong SQL skills, data modelling knowledge, and experience with CI/CD and data governance. You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable data platforms for digital transformation.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SQL.
• Expert in Data Migration.
• Experience in data migration strategies using industry standard toolsets.
• Experience in distributed compute/file systems (Spark, PySpark).
• Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills.
• Good communication skills and technical acumen.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Understanding of data modelling/warehousing techniques (ER, Kimball, Data Vault).
• Databricks experience.
• Languages: Python, SQL; R is a plus.
• Understanding of Azure, Power Platform, D365.

Responsibilities

• Carry out data migration activities: Extraction, Transformation & Load to move data from AX, Excel and other sources into the D365 data store.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure data quality and timely delivery.

Your new role

In this exciting role as a Data Engineer, you will have to carry out data migration required activities- Extraction/Transformation & Load (Data has to be moved from different systems like AX, Excel and other data sources into a data store that their Microsoft D365 uses )

What you'll require for success

• Proficient in SQL
• Expert in Data Migration
• Experience in delivery of data migration strategies using industry standard toolsets and techniques Experience in distributed compute/file system technologies (I.e. Spark, PySpark)
• Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills
• Good communication skills and a technical acumen
• Sound understanding and working knowledge in Data assessment & Planning, Data Cleansing, Data migration, Assistance in Integration, Data governance & management and data reporting
• Knowledge of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code methodologies
• Sound understanding of data modelling/warehousing techniques (entity-relationship and relational modelling, Kimball, Data Vault and multi-layered analytics architectures)
• Databricks
• Languages like Python, SQL, optionally R for data manipulation, analysis, and modelling
• Understanding of Azure, Power platforms, D365
