CoStar News Australia is seeking a NSW & Queensland-focused journalist to deliver data-driven reporting on the commercial real estate sector. You will leverage CoStar's datasets to uncover market trends and provide local insights that help professionals make informed decisions.

You'll break major news while also offering analysis of macroeconomic influences shaping office, retail and industrial markets, working within a high-performance newsroom and integrating visualization tools and CMS

Qualifications

3–5 years in a fast-paced newsroom.
Degree in Journalism, Communications, Economics, or related field.
Specialised training in: Data Journalism, Financial Reporting, Economic Analysis, CMS platforms

Responsibilities

Market Coverage: Report daily on commercial property activities in NSW and Queensland.
Data-Driven Storytelling: Integrate CoStar proprietary data and analytics into news stories to provide market context and visualisations.
Breaking News: Proactively identify and report on breaking news, major transactions, and significant industry moves.
Trends and Insights: Analyse sector trends and produce insights on broader economic shifts affecting commercial real estate.
Industry Networking: Build and maintain a network of industry contacts to secure exclusive leads.
Editorial Collaboration: Work within a high-performance newsroom, aligning with content roadmaps and brand standards.
