Job summary

Securitas Australia is seeking a Security Officer for Queensland to join our team on full-time, 12-hour shifts. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and contractors, conduct screenings, monitor alarms, and respond to incidents across day and night rosters.

Ideal candidates hold an AGSVA NV1 clearance, a valid Security License, and excel in communication and customer service while upholding safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and observational skills.
• Customer service experience is essential.
• Must be punctual, responsible and able to multi-task.
• Hold a Valid Security License (Class 1A or equivalent).
• AGSVA NV1 Clearance or eligibility is preferred.
• Compliance with company policies and procedures is required.
• Protect premises occupants and property.
• Experience communicating via two-way radio and reporting.
• Greet visitors and assist as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security screening of all personnel entering and exiting a restricted area.
• Monitor facility alarms and security system alarms (Class 5 and Duress).
• Investigate and respond to alarms; act as first responder and assist in emergencies.
• Manage keys/cards, Access Control System and Visitor Management Systems.
• Identify prohibited items and prevent entry or removal from restricted areas.
• Provide shift reports and handover to Security Supervisor.
• Patrol assigned areas physically and via CCTV; report hazards and incidents.
