Job summary

CSIRO is seeking an IIS Platforms Facilities Manager to lead the operation, security and continuous improvement of our critical data centre infrastructure. You will direct a multidisciplinary team, drive strategic roadmaps, manage complex projects and vendor partnerships to ensure safe, reliable and future-ready facilities.

The role requires strong leadership, expertise in critical infrastructure environments and a proven track record in delivering service improvements and operational resilience

Qualifications

• A degree in engineering, information technology, facilities management, or a related discipline (or equivalent demonstrated experience), together with substantial experience in senior leadership roles responsible for data centre facilities, critical infrastructure, operational technology, or information management and technology services.
• Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) or related discipline (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
• Experience leading large-scale, complex technology infrastructure or facilities operations with strategic roadmaps and capability uplift initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for CSIRO's data centre and facilities operations, developing the vision, roadmap, standards and operational frameworks.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to drive reliability, energy efficiency and long-term planning.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team in safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate infrastructure projects, maintenance works and service improvement initiatives to meet objectives, budgets and schedules.
• Oversee DCIM platforms and monitoring systems to support proactive management and reporting.
• Lead incident response, problem resolution and emergency management to minimise disruption.
