Job summary

Compas Pty Ltd in NSW is seeking a Data Centre Field Infrastructure Engineer to plan, build and maintain secure, scalable ICT infrastructure for a major government technology program.

This NSW contract runs to 30 June 2027 with two 12-month extension options; NV1 clearance is required. You will coordinate infrastructure changes, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical guidance across network, server and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• NV1 clearance is required.
• Experience planning, building and maintaining secure, reliable data centre infrastructure.
• Experience across ICT infrastructure, including network, server and cloud environments.
• Strong incident response, change management and root cause analysis capabilities.

Data Centre Field Infrastructure Engineer | NV1

Work as a Data Centre Field Infrastructure Engineer planning, building and maintaining secure, reliable and scalable ICT infrastructure across a major government technology program. This NSW contract runs to 30 June 2027 with two 12-month extension options.

Location: NSW

Contract Duration: Contract to 30 June 2027 + 12 months + 12 months

Security Clearance Requirement: NV1

Closing Date: 10:00am, 11 September 2026

Essential Tasks

• Plan, design, build and maintain secure, reliable and scalable data centre infrastructure.
• Coordinate infrastructure changes, troubleshoot complex issues and lead major incident response and recovery activities.
• Oversee rack allocation, power utilisation, cabling standards, infrastructure design and lifecycle planning.
• Provide technical guidance, lead technical activities and manage project risks, deliverables and documentation.

Key Criteria

• Strong background planning and building safe, high-power and reliable data centre facilities.
• Experience across ICT infrastructure, including network, server and cloud environments.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, change management, incident response and root cause analysis capability.
• ITIL, Microsoft or Cisco certifications, or AutoCAD/Visio drafting experience, would be advantageous.
