Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead design of data centre critical infrastructure in Australia. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and drive design governance from concept through commissioning and handover.

You will champion QA/HSE compliance, leverage BIM tools, and develop robust change and risk controls while collaborating with clients, consultants, and vendors to deliver high-quality, time-sensitive projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services or related) or equivalent.
• Proven experience in an engineering consultancy delivering large, complex building services projects, ideally mission critical or data centres.
• Structured design management capability with PEPs, master programs, trackers, change and risk controls, KPI-based cost/quality controls.
• Stakeholder engagement and crisp communication across clients, authorities and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams in the design of data centre critical infrastructure and facilitate design forums to resolve issues and mitigate risk.
• Drive process improvements and tool optimisation across the design lifecycle; prepare business review materials; establish metrics for cost, quality and schedule; feed construction/commissioning data back into continuous improvement.
• Set and manage capital design budgets; contribute to business cases for new/existing regions; collaborate with finance to secure funding and track performance.
• Coordinate resources across disciplines; influence design changes based on evolving customer/site needs; maintain robust document control and change management records.
• Champion QA and HSE compliance, capture lessons learned and embed best practice across the portfolio.
