Job summary

Jobstar is seeking a Data Technician to install, terminate, and test UTP and fibre cabling in live Melbourne data centres. You will work in western suburbs, within strict procedures and zero-downtime expectations.

The role requires experience with data cabling, high attention to detail, and the ability to operate in secure, procedure-driven environments. Strong documentation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in data cabling (UTP and fibre essential).
• Strong attention to detail and pride in doing things properly.
• Current cabling registration (ACMA) preferred; fibre testing experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Installing and routing UTP and fibre cabling to standards.
• Terminating, testing, and documenting cabling for AI and high-density networks.
• Working within completed data centres with security and access protocols.
• Maintaining accuracy, compliance, and professional conduct.
• Following change-window requirements and risk-controlled processes.
