Job summary

Microsoft is seeking a Senior IT Support Data Center Technician for on-site work at our Sydney data centers. You will deploy hardware, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain inventory while following SOPs. The role involves security screenings and collaboration with cross-site teams to keep servers and networks healthy.

The position emphasizes mentorship, data center best practices, and growth within CO+I. Expect 8-5pm hours with occasional overtime, and a strong focus on security and asset

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of industry work experience supporting IT equipment or hardware technology.
• Ability to meet security screening requirements for government-related roles.
• Experience with BIOS changes and hardware deployment in data centers.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with Data Center teams across sites.
• Keep IT devices in healthy state and compliant with security standards.
• Manage inventory including receiving, assigning and decommissioning devices.
• Provide user guidance for common repair issues and escalate when needed.
• Perform RMA for equipment damaged within 30 days of receipt.
• Support on-site data center infrastructure, servers, storage and OS support.
