Job summary

Amazon AWS is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to join the Data Center Global Services (DCGS) Controls Design Engineering team in Sydney. The role focuses on Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) design standards and coordination across AWS data centers.

You will help develop standards, CPLs, and Basis of Design documents while ensuring consistency across global projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expertise in BMS/EPMS programming concepts, control diagrams, HVAC systems, electrical lineups, and one-line diagrams
• Apply SPOF analysis and energy/water conservation practices
• Create and maintain Basis of Design standards for global projects
• Develop project-specific SOWs aligned to global design standards
• Drive innovative solutions to support team goals
• Act as central contact for internal and external groups on BMS/EPMS standards
• Lead collaboration with construction teams, controls programmers, MEP/ACS engineers, Design Engineering, CRE, and project managers
• Coordinate with regional PMs to review and finalize project SOWs
• Prioritize information requests for new builds, existing facilities, and legacy upgrades
