Job summary

ASX is seeking a data analyst to join the Transformation and Operational Performance team within ASX Supervision, focusing on reporting and analytics to support decision-making and regulatory submissions.

You will design dashboards, perform data analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver insights from sources like IRESS, Capital IQ, and Bloomberg. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as a data analyst or similar role.
• Experience in developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, data visualisations.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using SQL, Excel, Power BI.
• Experience with data programming languages such as Python and/or R.
• Strong investigative and analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.
• A diligent record keeper.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and high-quality periodic reports (monthly, quarterly) for executive, board and regulatory submissions.
• Design and build reports and dashboards that provide actionable insight and commentary for management.
• Perform ad hoc data analysis and prepare clear and concise reports to articulate findings.
• Collaborate with stakeholders from broad cross functional teams to deliver data and analysis solutions that meet their requirements.
• Maintain good record-keeping, documentation and knowledge of reporting processes and data sources.
• Identify and implement enhancements to current reporting processes.
• Assist in automating processes with use of data.
• Develop expert knowledge in using 3rd party applications (IRESS, Capital IQ, Bloomberg) to augment internal data analytics.
• Undertake data management initiatives such as data quality monitoring, reconciliations, data validations and remediation to ensure the integrity of our regulatory and management reporting.

Your Team

ASX Supervision is the division responsible for the supervision of market participants and issuers listed on the exchange and is at the front line of ASX’s core license obligations to monitor and enforce the market’s operating rules that helps maintain a fair, orderly, transparent and efficient market- protecting not only the interests of investors but also the reputation of Australia’s financial system as a whole. Within the division, the Transformation and Operational Performance (TOP) team is a multi-disciplinary team of risk, process, systems, and data professionals that collectively enables the ASX Supervision division to achieve its strategic outcomes. The TOP team is responsible for designing, implementing and embedding continuous improvements to its operational and risk management practices.

Your Responsibilities

Your Experience And Qualifications

Must have

• 2+ years’ experience as a data analyst or similar role
• Prior experience in developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, data visualisations
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using contemporary tools (SQL, Excel, Power BI)
• Experience with data programming languages such as Python and/or R
• Strong investigative and analytical mindset, possess strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability and curiosity
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
• A diligent record keeper

Nice to have

• Recently graduated with a business-related degree in areas such as commerce, business analytics, data science, applied mathematics
• Worked with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure
• Working knowledge of software development/engineering best practices (DevOps, Git)
• Ability to work independently, although reasonable supervision and guidance will be provided by more senior peers
