Job summary

Ochre Education Resource Library Ltd – North Sydney NSW is hiring a Data Analyst to support organisation-wide technology vision and ensure scalable, secure, user-centered data platforms aligned with the mission.

You will design and maintain data pipelines, ingest from multiple sources, and implement robust ELT/ETL workflows while enabling self-service analytics for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with SQL (complex queries, performance tuning).
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or similar data-focused languages.
• Hands‑on experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Familiarity with data warehouses and/or lakehouse architectures.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts and analytics use cases.
• Experience operating production systems.
• Strong debugging and root‑cause analysis skills.
• Bias toward automation and long‑term maintainability.
• Valid Working with Children Check (or equivalent) and satisfactory criminal record check required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch and/or streaming).
• Ingest data from multiple sources (application databases, APIs, third-party tools, files).
• Implement robust ELT/ETL workflows with clear contracts and schema management.
• Design and maintain analytical data models.
• Manage data warehouses/lakes (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks).
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and anomaly detection.
• Enable self-service analytics through datasets and tooling.
• Treat data pipelines as production software using version control, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Write maintainable, tested, and observable code.
