Job summary

Transport for NSW in Sydney is seeking a Data Analyst to drive evidence-based decision making, develop Power BI dashboards, and partner with stakeholders to address business challenges.

You will source, cleanse and analyse data from multiple systems, translate findings into actionable insights and help improve services for customers through data-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience analysing, interpreting and reporting on complex datasets, with the ability to transform findings into actionable business insights.
• Advanced experience developing Power BI dashboards, reports and visualisations, including data modelling and performance reporting.
• Demonstrated experience working with SharePoint, including information management, reporting and collaboration solutions.
• Working knowledge and practical experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Apps and Power Automate.

• Provide expert advice on reporting methodologies, performance measurement, automation opportunities and data governance practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through the effective use of data, digital tools and modern technologies.

In this role, you'll

You will demonstrate

Proven experience analysing, interpreting and reporting on complex datasets, with the ability to transform findings into actionable business insights.

Advanced experience developing Power BI dashboards, reports and visualisations, including data modelling and performance reporting.

Demonstrated experience working with SharePoint, including information management, reporting and collaboration solutions.

Working knowledge and practical experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Apps and Power Automate.

Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation.

Experience gathering business requirements, identifying opportunities and delivering practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.

Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking capabilities, with a focus on achieving outcomes rather than simply producing reports.

Sound understanding of data governance, data quality, security and compliance principles.

The ability to work autonomously, manage priorities effectively and take initiative in a dynamic environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a simple and compelling way.
