Job summary

Lime Recruitment is recruiting a Data Analyst for a Brisbane CBD contract hybrid role, to analyse complex datasets and deliver Power BI dashboards and insights to support intelligence-led decision-making.

You will collaborate with BAs, Data Engineers, and Architects, utilise modern tools like MS Fabric and Databricks, and implement RLS for secure reporting. Initial contract to 26/02/2027 with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Experience in data analysis, BI, reporting within complex enterprise or government environments.
• Advanced Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL for data modeling.
• Hands-on work with MS Fabric, Databricks, Spark SQL and Lakehouse architectures.
• Experience configuring Row-Level Security (RLS) for reporting.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to translate needs into data specifications.
• Ability to work independently across multiple project workstreams.

Initial Contract to 26/02/2027 (+ Planned Extension to Feb 2028) | Brisbane CBD | Hybrid Working

Lime Recruitment is currently working with a Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Data Analyst. In this role you will analyze complex datasets and transform information into actionable insights to support intelligence-led operations, evidence-based decision-making, and organisational performance across the Intelligence Technology Project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with business stakeholders to understand operational, intelligence, reporting, and analytical requirements.
• Analyse complex data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, risks, and actionable insights supporting strategic decision-making.
• Develop and maintain reporting and analytical products, including Power BI dashboards, visualisations, metrics, and performance measures.
• Support requirements gathering and translate business requirements into technical data and reporting specifications for engineers and architects.
• Validate data quality, accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reporting products while embedding robust data governance.
• Utilise MS Fabric, Databricks, Lakehouse concepts, Dataflows, and Spark SQL to process and transform large datasets for reporting.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) in Power BI to ensure appropriate data access based on user roles.
• Collaborate with Business BAs, Data Architects, and Data Engineers to support user acceptance testing, report validation, and business adoption.

About You:

• Demonstrated experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, and analytics within complex enterprise or government environments.
• Advanced technical capability in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, MS Excel, and SQL for data modeling and transformation.
• Hands-on experience processing large datasets using modern data stack tools such as MS Fabric, Databricks, Spark SQL, Dataflows, and Lakehouse architectures.
• Proven experience configuring Row-Level Security (RLS) and applying effective data visualization techniques for decision-support reporting.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into data specifications and present insights effectively.
• Ability to work independently across multiple project workstreams while collaborating seamlessly with BAs, Data Engineers, and Architects.
