Job summary

Canberra Consulting is seeking a Data Analyst to join a Federal Government team in Canberra on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on school data production, reporting and analytics, leveraging Databricks, PySpark and SQL to deliver reliable insights and repeatable reporting processes.

You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into analytical outputs, profile data quality, and contribute to a Databricks-based analytics platform transition.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL capability with experience on complex datasets.

Data Analyst – Databricks / SQL
Canberra | Hybrid | Baseline Clearance Required
$95–$110 per hour incl. super

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support a Federal Government team responsible for school data production, reporting and analytics.
This role will suit someone with strong SQL capability, experience working with complex datasets, and practical exposure to Databricks, PySpark or Spark SQL.
You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to analyse and reconcile data, investigate quality issues, translate reporting requirements into analytical solutions and support repeatable reporting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and reconcile complex administrative and reporting datasets

• Develop SQL and PySpark transformations, validation rules and repeatable reports
• Undertake data profiling, reconciliation, quality assurance and anomaly investigation

EligibilityApplicants must:

• Be able to work from the Canberra office under hybrid arrangements
• Hold a current Baseline security clearance or higher

Contract: 12 October 2026 to 30 June 2027

Extension: Possible 6-month extension

Rate: $95–$110 per hour including superannuation
