Job summary

Hamilton Barnes seeks a Data, AI & Analytics Engineer to design and build a modern data and analytics environment using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Azure in Sydney. You will support a healthcare transformation, establishing a governed data platform while modernising reporting and analytics across data engineering, integration, governance and AI.

The role goes beyond traditional Power BI; you will work across data engineering, governance and applied AI, partnering with leaders to deliver

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, analytics or BI.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Advanced SQL, DAX, Power Query and ETL/ELT skills.
• Experience with Azure data and cloud technologies.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, integration and governance.
• Understanding of Generative AI, LLMs and enterprise AI applications.
• Experience with data migration or digital transformation projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• DP-600, Python/PySpark, Dataverse, Purview and Copilot experience highly desirable.
• Healthcare experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, including pipelines, lakehouses and warehouses.
• Develop enterprise Power BI dashboards, semantic models, KPIs and reporting solutions.
• Build ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from multiple operational and corporate systems.
• Support data migration, transformation, reconciliation and reporting transition activities.
• Establish strong data quality, governance, lineage and access controls.
• Identify and develop practical AI/ML use cases.
• Integrate data across APIs, databases, SaaS platforms and enterprise applications.
• Work with business leaders to translate operational requirements into scalable data solutions.

About the Role

The Company is seeking a Data, AI & Analytics Engineer to design and build a modern data and analytics environment using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and Azure.

Initially, you will support a major healthcare transformation program, establishing a standalone and governed data platform while modernising reporting and analytics. This is more than a traditional Power BI role you'll work across data engineering, integration, analytics, governance and applied AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, including pipelines, lakehouses and warehouses.
• Develop enterprise Power BI dashboards, semantic models, KPIs and reporting solutions.
