Job summary

McMahon Services in Darwin is seeking an experienced Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitter to join our team on a permanent basis. The role offers a 40-hour week with minimal overtime, providing engaging work while preserving time outside of work.

You will perform planned maintenance inspections, fault-finding and repairs on fixed plant and marine infrastructure such as wharves, jetties, gearboxes and winches. Applicants with wharf and jetty experience are valued, but not required.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining fixed plant or similar industrial assets.
• Ability to fault-find and document maintenance actions.
• Basic computer skills for emails and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned and preventative maintenance per OEM schedules.
• Service fixed plant and marine assets including winches and gearboxes.
• Inspect marine infrastructure such as wharves and jetties.
• Document maintenance activities and records.
• Work safely within JSEA/SWMS and permit-to-work processes.
