Job summary

The Union Dairy Company in Penola, SA is seeking Production Operators to operate milk powder packing and related processes. You will follow SOPs, monitor equipment and quality checks, and work on 12-hour shifts.

Experience in dairy or food manufacturing is desirable; forklift licence and Australian driver's licence are required. You will also handle basic computer tasks, lift up to 25 kg, and participate in continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Current forklift licence and Australian driver's licence required.
• Experience in dairy or food manufacturing desirable.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete records accurately.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
• Physically fit to lift up to 25 kg and stand for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment across milk powder packing, palletising, evaporator, spray dryer, wet processing and AMF operations.
• Ensure products meet food safety, quality and packaging standards by completing routine quality checks, sampling, monitoring and production records.
• Operate forklifts and warehouse systems to move raw materials, packaging and finished products, where licensed and authorised.
• Follow SOPs, safety requirements and hygiene standards at all times.
• Monitor equipment and production processes, identify issues or defects, and report problems to the Production Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic work environment and complete cleaning and changeover activities.
• Work collaboratively with the production team, communicate effectively during shift handovers, and participate in training and continuous improvement activities.
