About us

The NSW Police Force (NSWPF) is one of the largest police forces in the western world, with more than 20,000 employees, including more than 4,000 administrative employees who support the sworn officers that provide a range of law and order services 24 hours a day, seven days a week to the socially, geographically and culturally diverse community of NSW.

About the role

We have an opportunity for a Cyber Threat Intelligence Lead to be part of our Cyber Security, Technology & Communication Services Command. The role plays a key part in in strengthening the organisation’s cyber resilience by contributing to the development and delivery of timely, relevant, and actionable intelligence on emerging cyber threats.

Working in the Cyber Defence Centre as part of the Technology & Communication Services Command of NSW Police offers the chance to contribute to one of the largest police forces in the western world while shaping cutting-edge capabilities that directly enhance community safety and modern policing. It also provides exposure to rapidly evolving cyber environments, next-generation policing systems, and a growing, well-resourced team committed to combating emerging digital threats.

In this role you will lead and continually mature the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) capability of the New South Wales Police Force (NSWPF), helping to shape the direction of the program. You will work to produce threat intelligence focusing on serious threats to the organisation, its technologies, and its people, utilising industry leading technologies and platforms during the process.

As the Cyber Threat Intelligence Lead, you will research emerging and established techniques across a range of new and old technologies spanning the OSI model. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with state and federal agencies, conduct intelligence sharing and contribute to such communities.

We're looking for someone who finds new adversary techniques interesting, exciting and can thrive in the fast-paced world of CTI. Importantly, you'll be able to translate intelligence into meaningful insights that support stakeholders across the organisation, from the CSOC to the CISO. If you have interest in security research, intelligence production and frameworks such as STIX, we’d love to hear from you.

If you're excited about this role, please apply. We value potential and diverse experiences, so you don't need to satisfy every requirement for us to consider your application.

Please note, due to the nature of the role, the successful applicant is required to obtain and maintain a NV2 (Negative Vetting) clearance.
