AGL Energy in Melbourne seeks a Cyber Engineer to join our Cyber Transformation program, delivering security outcomes across Enterprise IT, Cloud, and the Secure Energy Data Centre. You will work with Cyber Security, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure and Operations to implement security technology and strengthen threat detection.

The role requires hands-on security engineering experience, strong networking and OS knowledge, and familiarity with security standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security engineering or security operations.
• Strong understanding of networking, operating systems and core cyber security principles.
• Hands-on with SIEM, EDR, firewalls and vulnerability tools.
• Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud security.
• Experience with incident investigation and remediation activities.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST CSF, ASD Essential Eight.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across teams.

Responsabilités

• Engineer, configure and maintain security technologies across enterprise, cloud and Secure Energy Data Centre environments.
• Enhance SIEM, EDR and monitoring platforms to improve detection of emerging cyber threats and suspicious behaviours.
• Operationalise threat intelligence by developing detection rules, dashboards and automated response capabilities.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, analyse findings and partner with teams to drive remediation activities.
• Implement and maintain secure cloud configurations across Azure and AWS environments.
• Support secure architecture, monitoring, access controls and data protection initiatives within the Secure Energy Data Centre.
• Contribute to incident response activities, investigations and security hardening initiatives across critical technology environments.
