Job summary

HR Partners in Lane Cove, Sydney, Defence tech, seeks a Senior Cyber Security Engineer with active NV1 clearance and a sponsorship path for NV2 upgrade. This onsite role operates in a secure lab environment and offers a base package up to $150k base + super.

You will lead security accreditation, craft robust security frameworks, and drive Authority to Operate sign-offs across complex multi-domain ICT projects for Defence programs.

Qualifications

• Active NV1 clearance with eligibility for NV2 upgrade.
• Defence-focused security expertise (DSPF, ISM, Defence ATO processes).
• Strong Windows/Linux, virtualisation, networks, MDM, and scripting (Python/Batch).
• Ability to author compliant security documentation and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Drive accreditation: architect Security Management Plans and secure ATO approvals for Defence platforms.
• Author and implement: develop SOPs and enforce ISM, DSPF, and Essential 8 controls across integrated software/hardware environments.
• Assess and harden: conduct vulnerability assessments, threat analysis, and hands-on controls verification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and represent the business in cleared workshops (occasional travel to ACT/VIC).

The Mission Protect and empower Australia’s critical Defence programs. Based out of our high-tech, secure lab in Lane Cove, you will lead security accreditation, craft robust security frameworks, and drive ATO sign-offs across complex multi-domain ICT projects.

What You’ll Do

• Drive Accreditation: Architect Security Management Plans and secure Authority to Operate (ATO) approvals for Defence platforms.
