Job summary

Cyient is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Engineer with 1-2 years of experience to support security assessments, risk analyses, and secure development practices across IT/OT systems and applications in Melbourne.

You will collaborate with development, testing, and systems engineering teams to apply cybersecurity standards, conduct vulnerability testing, and contribute to security reports and documentation.

Qualifications

• Fundamentals of cybersecurity and secure software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Perform vulnerability assessment and security testing of applications, systems, and networks.
• Support cybersecurity risk assessments and mitigation planning.
• Assist in identifying, tracking, and managing security vulnerabilities.
• Conduct security reviews of software, hardware, and system architectures.
• Support implementation of cybersecurity standards, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in threat modelling, security audits, and compliance activities.
• Analyse security incidents and assist in remediation activities.
• Prepare cybersecurity reports and technical documentation.

The candidate will support cybersecurity activities across projects, assist in risk assessments, perform security evaluations, and contribute to the implementation of security best practices for IT/OT systems and applications.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT).
• Understanding of OWASP Top 10 security risks.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, networking concepts, and communication protocols.
• Basic programming knowledge in Python, C, or C++.
• Understanding of authentication, encryption, and access control concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Electronics, or related discipline.
