Job summary

NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join the ICT team. You will protect information systems and services supporting NSW education, contributing to the maturity of the cyber security program through assurance activities, incident management and risk monitoring.

This role blends technical analysis with governance, assurance and policy work. You will collaborate across the organisation and with external partners to strengthen cyber security, influence

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating security assurance, audit, compliance or governance activities within a cyber security environment.
• Experience developing, reviewing or implementing cyber security policies, standards, procedures or related governance documentation.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, assess and communicate cyber security risks, vulnerabilities and remediation strategies.
• Experience managing competing priorities and delivering quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment with changing demands.
• Ability to build productive relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate complex security concepts clearly.
• Commitment to maintaining contemporary knowledge of cyber security threats, technologies, frameworks and industry practices.
• Experience with monitoring and detection tools, SIEM, and application whitelisting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating security assurance activities to strengthen controls and resilience.
• Monitoring and researching cyber security threats and risks across the organisation.
• Conducting security reviews and audits for policy and standard compliance.
• Investigating and reporting cyber security risks, coordinating remediation with stakeholders.
• Collaborating with MSPs, vendors and stakeholders to improve security controls.
• Providing cyber security guidance and awareness across the organisation.
• Developing and maintaining information security policies and governance documentation.
• Supporting ongoing management and maturity of the cyber security program.
