Job summary

Digital Native in Brisbane is seeking a permanent Cyber Security Analyst, Level 3, to own investigations, analyse detections and coordinate responses across technical teams.

This role combines hands-on security operations with governance, risk and compliance activities, applying recognized security frameworks while contributing to audits and policy improvements. You will work with cross‑functional teams and guidance to less experienced staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience performing independent cyber security investigations and responses.
• Proven ability to triage alerts, assess impact and plan remediation.
• Knowledge of threat actor TTPs and security controls across IT environments.
• Strong communication skills translating technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders.

Join a Brisbane-based technology company as a permanent, full-time Cyber Security Analyst, Level 3. Offering $165,000 plus Superannuation, this role is based in Milton and focuses on investigating security detections, responding to cyber incidents, assessing risk and strengthening security controls. You will work across information systems and networks, partnering with technical teams to protect critical technology environments.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex cyber security investigations within a technology-focused organisation. You will analyse detections, alerts and events, assess their impact and coordinate effective response actions across technical teams.

The role combines hands‑on security operations with governance, risk and compliance activity. You will help strengthen policies, controls and procedures against recognised security frameworks while contributing to audits, vulnerability assessments, incident response planning and business continuity.

You will work closely with technical subject matter experts, communicate practical security advice and provide guidance to less experienced cyber security staff. This is a role for an experienced analyst who can operate independently, remain calm under pressure and drive investigations through to resolution.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the investigation and triage of security detections, alerts and events
• Assess severity, identify likely causes and coordinate containment, remediation or escalation
• Analyse systems, networks, applications and information for cyber security risks
• Contribute to security audits, assessments, penetration testing and vulnerability remediation
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, controls and supporting documentation
• Apply frameworks including ASD ISM, NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and MITRE ATT&CK
• Support incident response planning, business continuity activities and security awareness
• Provide technical guidance to security staff and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation

What You'll Need (Essential)

• Significant experience in cyber security operations, including independent incident investigation and response
• Strong capability in alert triage, impact assessment, threat analysis and remediation planning
• Comprehensive knowledge of threat actor tactics, techniques and procedures
• Strong understanding of networking, protocols and firewalls
• Solid experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience implementing and maintaining security policies, processes, controls and proceduresSignificant experience applying ASD ISM, NIST CSF, ISO 27001 or MITRE ATT&CK
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain quality under pressure
• Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science, or clearly demonstrated relevant industry experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with Rapid7, CrowdStrike or Splunk
• CompTIA Security+, CISSP or another relevant cyber security certification

Pay: $150,000.00 – $170,000.00 per year
