Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Cyber Security Architect in Australia to contribute to the AIR6500 Joint Air Battle Management System program. The role demands deep cyber security design, risk assessment, and collaboration with engineering teams across secure architectures and governing frameworks.

The candidate will guide security considerations from system concept through deployment, supporting DSAAF/ASIG compliance and ASDEFCON processes while mentoring teammates and ensuring robust risk

Qualifications

• Broad systems engineering lifecycle experience applied to cyber security architecture.
• Extensive experience with Australian Defence security frameworks (DSAAF, ASIG).
• Proven capability in cyber risk assessments and threat modeling.

Responsibilities

• Assist in defining and decomposing system security requirements across Mission and Support Systems.
• Identify security design attributes and articulate how they influence overall system design.
• Plan and oversee cyber security test and evaluation activities, including test plans and test events.
• Conduct system and security reviews and provide recommendations to mitigate identified security risks.
• Prepare core security documentation in support of System Authorisation activities.
• Contribute to security design activities led by the Lead Cyber Architect.
• Provide cyber security subject matter expertise and guidance to stakeholders across security architecture, secure engineering and cyber security supply chain activities.
• Review security architectures and technical solution designs, troubleshoot technical issues and provide cyber security expertise to engineering teams.
• Support cyber security planning, estimating, status monitoring, measurement and reporting activities.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, direction and training to build cyber security knowledge and capability.
• Apply relevant cyber security standards, directives, guidance and policies within architectural frameworks.

Job description

AIR6500 will provide a Joint Air Battle Management System capability for the Royal Australian Air Force. The system will provide multi-domain integration of air, electromagnetic, and missile defence battle management including deployable & fixed operations centres, communications, and both active & passive sensors.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in defining and decomposing system security requirements across Mission and Support Systems.

What You’ll Bring

• Broad systems engineering lifecycle experience, with the ability to apply this expertise to cyber security architecture, design and development initiatives.
• Significant experience working with Australian Defence security frameworks, including the Defence Security Assessment and Authorisation Framework (DSAAF) and Australian Special Access Program Implementation Guide (ASIG).
• Significant experience performing and leading cyber risk assessments.
• Strong understanding of cyber security architecture, secure systems engineering and information system security design or operations.
• The ability to work collaboratively with engineering and program stakeholders and provide clear technical advice on complex security matters.
• Relevant professional security certification such as ISC2, GIAC or ISACA certification.
• Experience with systems engineering lifecycle methodologies.
• Experience with Model-Based Engineering (MBE) concepts and tools.
• Previous exposure to the Australian Defence industry and the ASDEFCON process.
• Experience with the DOORS requirements management tool, including tool setup and schema development.
• Strong understanding of Configuration Management and Change Management.
