Job summary

DSV Global Transport and Logistics – Melbourne Airport, VIC is seeking a Customs Specialist, Classifier Export AUS to join our Melbourne team. The role focuses on classifying and compiling commodities within the customs tariff and ensuring timely clearance of consignments.

You will liaise with shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders and government bodies, deliver high levels of customer service, and support day-to-day customs entry processes while mentoring colleagues and contributing to

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Customs compiling and Classifying.
• Recognised Customs course completed or currently underway.
• Solid understanding of the Customs Tariff and related regulations.
• Competent in using Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Effective time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Classifying and compiling a variety of commodities within the customs tariff.

• Actively participate in recruitment and development of team members – including mentoring, coaching, challenging and evaluating team members.
