Job summary

FedEx is seeking a Customs Clearance Classifier in Australia to ensure accurate tariff classification and compliance for import/export shipments. You will review documents, classify goods, and work with customers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve queries.

You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, trade agreements, and ABF liaison, supporting efficient clearance and customer service. Diploma in Customs Broking required.

Qualifications

• Completed Diploma of Customs Broking is essential.
• Knowledge of Australian customs regulations and tariff classification principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements is highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Classify goods based on customs regulations and HS codes accurately
• Review shipment documentation to determine the correct tariff classification
• Collaborate with customers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve classification-related queries
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations, trade agreements, and tariff schedules
• Identify and address discrepancies or inconsistencies in classification and documentation, proactively communicating and resolving issues
• Liaise with the Australian Border Force (ABF) and other government agencies to ensure compliance
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to tariff classifications and customs clearance processes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient customs clearance operations
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in customs regulations to identify opportunities for process improvement
