Job summary

FedEx Australia is seeking a Customs Clearance Classifier to ensure accurate tariff classification and compliance for import/export shipments. You will classify goods, review documents, and collaborate with customers, forwarders and internal teams to resolve classification questions.

Apply your knowledge of Australian customs regulations and HS codes, maintain regulatory awareness, and liaise with ABF and other agencies to ensure compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Customs Broking completed and recognised in Australia.
• Knowledge of Australian customs regulations and tariff classification principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Classify goods based on customs regulations and HS codes accurately.
• Review shipment documents to determine correct tariff classification.
• Collaborate with customers, freight forwarders and internal teams to resolve queries.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and tariff schedules.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve issues proactively.
• Liaise with the Australian Border Force (ABF) and other agencies to ensure compliance.
• Maintain records related to tariff classifications and clearance processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Stay updated on industry trends to improve processes and efficiency.
