Sophia College in Plainland, part of Brisbane Catholic Education, seeks a passionate Curriculum Leader - English to lead high-quality teaching and learning and drive improved student outcomes. You will lead a team of teachers, coordinate curriculum planning, assessment, and moderation, and support evidence-informed teaching.

Strong knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, and staff coaching is essential, with the ability to teach Study of Religion or Humanities as an advantage.

Qualifications

• Experience developing work programs aligned with national, state, and local requirements.
• Experience driving assessment and moderation in curriculum development.
• Leadership within a specified curriculum area.
• Stakeholder engagement fostering collaboration and transparency.
• Having responsibility for a financial budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination of the English curriculum taught in the school.
• Apply contemporary research and data analysis to classroom practice through PD, supervision, and induction of new teachers.
• Provide pastoral care for staff engaged in the designated curriculum areas.
• Coordinate and develop work programs aligned with national, state, and local requirements.
• Stay current with curriculum developments and support staff learning through reading and research.
• Manage assessment, moderation, and reporting processes, including accurate record-keeping.
• Supervise teaching quality through planning, moderation, observation, and reflection.
• Monitor student learning outcomes using performance data and implement interventions.
• Contribute to school leadership through participation in staff and middle leadership meetings.
• Manage financial and material resources, including budget planning and expenditure.
