Job summary

Clarence Valley Council is seeking a Curator, Exhibitions and Collections for the Grafton Regional Gallery, to build a dynamic visual arts program and deliver exhibitions, collection projects and public programs.

The successful candidate will work with the Regional Gallery Director, manage multiple projects, and cultivate connections with artists, audiences and community partners, including major initiatives such as the JADA exhibition.

About the role

Clarence Valley Council is currently recruiting for the role of Curator, Exhibitions and Collections with Grafton Regional Gallery. Join Grafton Regional Gallery, one of regional NSW’s iconic public galleries, and help shape a dynamic and engaging visual arts program for the Clarence Valley. As Curator Exhibitions and Collections, you will work closely with the Regional Gallery Director to deliver a diverse program of exhibitions, collection projects, public programs, and major initiatives, including the nationally recognised JADA exhibition. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and collaborative curator who enjoys building meaningful connections between artists, audiences, stakeholders, and community.

We are seeking an experienced arts professional with a strong background in exhibition development, curation, and collection management, combined with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The successful candidate will be highly organised, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple projects while working constructively with colleagues, artists, community groups, funding bodies, and industry partners. If you are passionate about contemporary visual arts, regional cultural development, and creating exceptional visitor experiences through collaboration and innovation, we encourage you to apply.
